Message from the President

Dear Skalleagues,

My year as your President officially began April 1 and we started off with a bang.

Thanks to the management and staff at the Sofitel and especially to member Valerie Gavin and new member Balendra Nagesvaren (GM).They were fantastic to us, providing a superb reception followed by a  scrumptuous meal.

This year our format and agendas may vary a bit. In our newsletter, we look to you the members to advise of new positions as well as members available for new jobs. We are a club of friends and as friends we want to reach out to those who may need assistance.

At our next meeting, we will continue to introduce new members (we introduced 3 in April). At our May meeting at the Regent we will be introducing 2 more new members. I encourage all of you to share the membership in SKAL with the hospitality and industry leaders you know.

Another highlight at the meeting of the 12th, will be hearing from industry veteran Jeanne Westphal about an opportunity to have an intern work in your business over the summer at no cost to you.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the Regent, it’s going to be a special event with a renoun chef.
