Message from the President

Dear Skal Members,

If I were up North, I'd be seeing the colors of Fall. The new season is with us and our hopes and expectations of seeing a resurgence in our industry, is with us as well.

Our October meeting continues to bring change. We will be inducting another new member, continuing our pattern of regrowing our club.

We will also be having another change of guard. Lew Meyer is once again retiring and our member Jerry Eastep will be taking over the job of Executive Secretary/Treasurer. Please welcome Jerry and offer your assistance.

Lew, thank you for all your efforts this past year.

This Month's Meeting - October

WHEN: Tuesday, October 13, 2009
WHERE: Newport Beachside Resort, 16701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach
TIME: Board meeting 5:00 pm

Cocktails 6:30-7:30 pm - Hors d'oeuvres with cash bar

Dinner Menu

Opener: Salad iceburg wedge, grilled red onions, tomato, apple wood-smoked bacon, port wine blue cheese dressing

ENTREES choose 1 of 3:

A. Mango and guava glazed half rack of ribs, ciliantro infused corn-on-the-cob, red bean soup, white rice
 
B. 16 oz. Cowboy ribeye blackened, Hungarian pepper stufed with Colby cheese wrapped in bacon, Stilton gratin
 
C. Mesquite smoked Cornish game hen, basted with Lone Star beer, jalapeno corn bread stuffing, roated corn coulie

Dessert: Chocolate-filled beignets with house-made vanilla bean ice cream
